Hailing from Roscrea, Brian Dunne, his fiancée Jemma and their young son Jamie were among the first to take up residence in Bellingham, where the quality house finishing proved too good to ignore.

The couple were previously living in Malahide, but had decided to escape the bustle and find a home to rent in Portlaoise, with a view to moving there permanently. However, once they visited Bellingham and were told by O.N.S. of the deposit to buy schemes available, their minds were quickly made up!

“We spoke to Helena in O.N.S. and things moved quickly from then on. O.N.S. were extremely helpful and explained everything from start to finish. The whole process only took about six weeks,” Brian recalled.

Another key attraction in Bellingham was the choice of interior designs available. “Your house is like a blank canvas when you buy it and we got to choose from different style floors, kitchens and so on,” Brian added. “As well as this, the finishing was excellent. We had someone down from Dublin to draw up a snag-list for the house and he was very impressed with the build and the design. The site foreman was also very good and if we had a problem he was always on hand to help us.”

Having moved from Dublin, a big selling point for Brian and Jemma was the location of Bellingham – far enough away from Portlaoise town centre to be always quiet, yet close enough to easily avail of the town’s amenities and services. “We have a fine, big house for starting a family, with a good location and superb finishing.

“The houses all come with alarms, which you don’t get in a lot of developments, and the estate is comfortable and secure. At night, you’d hear a pin drop, yet you’re in town in two minutes,” said Brian.

While Jemma works in Portlaoise, Brian commutes to Dublin for his job, a journey that now takes less than 60 minutes. “My commute to Dublin is fine, especially with the motorway accessible nearby. Portlaoise has everything we need as well, and new commercial developments are also on the way down here.”
