For Jimmy John and his wife Bibby Babu, the decision to live in Esker Hills was an easy one, as the house and estate appealed immediately. “It happened very quickly. We were looking for a house to rent and were told about the O.N.S. development of Esker Hills. When we had a look we liked it straight away and so we went for it,” said Jimmy.

Originally from India but living in Ireland for the past five years, Jimmy John and his wife needed a home that was quiet but close to local amenities, and they found just what they were looking for in Esker Hills. Jimmy works in Killenard, while his wife is a nurse in the Midlands Regional Hospital in Portlaoise, so a convenient location for both of them was found in the O.N.S. development.

“O.N.S. were really helpful to us. If we had any problems they were quick to get someone to come and see us and they helped us with planning the finance for the house purchase.”

As with other homeowners in O.N.S. developments, the quality and finish of the house was a main selling point for Jimmy and Bibby, who were on the lookout for good value and return on their investment. “We found that the finish of the home was to a really good standard and, if we wanted to make some changes to the interior when we purchased the house, there was no hassle from O.N.S. about that.”

The landscaping and general plan of Esker Hills also pleased the couple, particularly with the green areas and open spaces. “We liked the fact that there was good space in the estate, which made it a really nice locality. As well as this, the rooms – particularly the bedrooms – were all of a good size and, overall, the house was great value,” said Jimmy.

Surrounded by nice neighbours, Jimmy regards Esker Hills as a very safe place, and, with all of the town’s amenities within walking distance, the estate had so much more going for it.

“It’s very handy to get from place to place and everything that you need can be found in the town. Portlaoise and Esker Hills is great for peace and quiet, so we’re very happy to be here.
