When Esker Hills resident Liz Traynor decided that she didn’t want to take the route of simply renting a property, O.N.S. were on hand to help her make the journey towards becoming a homeowner as easy as possible.

Liz, who lives in Esker Hills with her daughter Stephanie, was informed by O.N.S. of their ‘rent to buy’ scheme and was immediately interested. “I knew that the rent I paid would come off the price of the house, so I jumped at the chance, as I didn’t want to throw away any more money on rent!” she explained. Having moved into her home in July of last year, Liz was delighted to find a suitable home in Portlaoise town, where she also works. She was also delighted with the help she received from O.N.S.: “They were brilliant; they couldn’t do enough for me.

“I didn’t know initially about the purchasing schemes offered by O.N.S., but when Helena asked me if I would be interested, I was delighted.”

The quality and finish of the houses in Esker Hills was another big bonus for Liz, who said that virtually all she had to do when she got her new home was to “turn the key and walk in”. “In general, there is excellent quality and finishing in the homes here,” she added.

Located within walking distance of the town’s commercial centre, schools and amenities, Liz was particularly pleased that her daughter’s school was nearby. “The location is great here and we have no problems with traffic and the like. I feel very comfortable and safe here; there’s a good community spirit and the residents’ committee organise the upkeep of the greens and so on.”

As for Portlaoise, Liz is more than happy with all that the town has to offer, and indeed with O.N.S., who are always on hand to help, should a problem arise. “O.N.S. were so helpful to me that it was a big incentive when it came to deciding to live in their Esker Hills development,” she continued.
